Natural Resources is an independently owned pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting resource center located in San Francisco's Noe Valley. For over a decade, Natural Resources has helped new and expectant parents gain knowledge and build community through classes, discussion groups and local resource listings. We offer carefully selected retail products, a wide variety of classes on childbirth and early parenting, new parent support groups, memberships and breastpump and birth tub rentals.

We believe parenting is a transformative experience, enhanced through informed choices and connection to community. We encourage parents to educate themselves, explore their options, and cultivate informed discussions with their care providers. We believe in family-centered birth, whether the birth place is a home, birth center or hospital.

Our classes are designed to help parents make the most of this exciting time and offer the most loving, nurturing care for their baby. We offer a comprehensive childbirth education series, childbirth preparation intensives, and classes on a wide range of topics including breastfeeding, newborn care, CPR, baby signing, infant massage, preconception and pregnancy nutrition, cloth diapering, using slings and much, much more.

Our staff and educators are deeply committed experts and include doulas, lactation educators, midwives, child psychologists, family therapists, certified nutritionists, hypnobirthing and calm birth practitioners, and others.

For our members, we offer an extensive, up-to-date library of DVDs, videos and books. We rent high quality hospital-grade breast pumps as well as Aqua Doula birth tubs and birth stools.

Our retail products are each thoughtfully chosen to enhance your pregnancy or parenting experience. Our products include a large book selection, birth balls, pregnancy support products, herbal teas, aromatherapy products, homeopathic remedies, baby carriers, nursing pillows, Medela breast pumps and supplies, nursing bras, diaper bags, cloth and eco-friendly diapering supplies, glass baby bottles, handmade clothing, swaddling blankets, strollers, and gliders. Natural Resources was founded by a community of women, and building community continues to be important to us. We keep our class sizes small and offer both pregnancy and postpartum support groups. We maintain a comprehensive list of local childbirth, childcare and postpartum service providers both on our website and in our store.
