Newborn Care and Parenting

In this four-hour workshop, expectant parents receive practical information on caring for their newborn. Designed to increase your confidence through the transition to parenthood, this course incorporates direct instruction, hands-on practice, and a panel of two new families who will share their early postpartum experiences. Newborn appearance and clinical procedures will be summarized. Methods for swaddling, diapering and soothing newborns will be demonstrated and practiced. Discussion topics include choosing a pediatrician, vaccinations, emotional adjustment, and postpartum support.
We recommend taking a Breastfeeding class prior to enrolling in the Newborn Parenting workshop. Cost and Schedule
