About the Instructor
Esther Gallagher has been teaching and providing new families with support for 30 years, 15 of those in San Francisco. She is a birth and postpartum doula with degrees in Anthropology and Philosophy. Her children are Suzannah, 30 and Evan, 23, who were born at home. Esther understands, from a first-hand perspective, that new parents benefit from a non-judgemental supportive presence, especially during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum recovery period. Her motto is, "Nurture the parents so that they are able to nurture the child". She likes to teach and to cook nourishing meals for her clients. She also likes riding her bike, tai chi, yoga and swimming.
