The Best Organic Start:
Baby’s Only Organic® Toddler Formula is intended for ages 1-year and older or as directed by a healthcare professional. After formula feeding or breast feeding, Baby’s Only Organic® Toddler Formula is a good nutritional choice to assure continued organic support for growth and development.

Baby's Only Organic® Sensitive with Organic DHA and ARA Toddler Formula* is the first organic milk-based formula intended for children with a sensitivity to lactose or those who have experienced a gastrointestinal illness. It also offers an alternative to parents who wish to avoid soy protein and has the added benefit of certified organic DHA and ARA naturally derived from egg yolks from eggs laid by organic hens. In the ingredient panel of our label, this is called organic egg lecithin. Our DHA and ARA is hexane free, unlike the DHA and ARA derived from algae or fungus sources.  This product is OU certified Kosher.

*Do not use for children with rare disorder Galactosemia.

Lactose Intolerance:
Lactose intolerance occurs when the body’s ability to make the enzyme, lactase, is affected resulting in the inability to digest milk sugar (lactose). It is typically genetic, predominate in some ethnic groups and is often known to be an issue for family members. Lactose intolerance can also occur after a medical gastrointestinal illness resulting in diarrhea. It can also be the result of a rare genetic disorder, Galactosemia. Consult your doctor for medical advice if this could be true. Lactose intolerance can result in stomach cramps, nausea, bloating, gassiness and/or diarrhea.

Nature’s One strives to always make organic better, and in doing so, we actively seek the highest quality organic ingredients that meet both consumer needs and our demand to continuously improve our formulas.

Baby’s Only Organic® Sensitive with Organic DHA & ARA has a new label and a new ingredient, Organic Egg Lecithin. This is the first and Only source of Certified Organic DHA & ARA, Choline, and Lutein found in a formula. This new version is the next evolution furthering our commitment to organic and nutritional superiority.

New Fat Blend Details:
Several Baby's Only® Formulas and PediaSmart® Beverages now contain organic canola oil as a fat source in the products' fat blend. Canola oil is an excellent source of unsaturated fats and essential fatty acids that must be consumed in the daily diet to ensure good growth and development. Our organic, non-GMO canola oil helps ensure your child gets the appropriate balance of unsaturated fatty acids and essential fatty acids.

Compare to Other Brands:
Parents should be aware that Nature's One does not use objectionable ingredients like organic corn syrup (also called glucose syrup), organic palm olein oil and hexane processed DHA or DHA derived from environmentally unfriendly sources such as fish. Nature’s One strives to use only high-quality ingredients and goes beyond organic standards.

Note: We analyze each batch of product knowing the nutrient composition of organic ingredients may change due to seasonal and growing conditions.  This can result in a minor change to the values shown on the label’s Nutrition Fact Panel.

Phospholipids vs Triglycerides (Fatty Acids):
The DHA and ARA used by Nature's One® are fatty acids from egg yolk, while other formulas use DHA and ARA derived from algae and fungus, which are triglycerides. The greatest amount of DHA in breast milk is in the phospholipid form. The use of egg phospholipids in human nutrition has been widely studied and understood to be more easily absorbed and offer greater bioavailability than DHA and ARA from triglycerides.

Phospholipids Balance Fatty Acids:
Breast milk is made up of both phospholipids and triglycerides. All other organic formulas only contain triglycerides formulated with vegetable oil blends and DSM’s life’sDHA® but are void of phospholipids. Nature's One® believes adding a phospholipid to formula achieves a more natural fatty acid profile and better supports rapid brain neuron development.

Why does the packaging say "Toddler Formula" from http://newbornclasses.blogspot.com/2010/08/babys-only-organic-formula-for-newborns.html :

After many inquiries into whether or not Baby's Only Organic's Toddlers formula was safe for a newborn, I sent an official query to Baby's Only. Here is the response.

Many thanks for your recent inquiry and also your interest in our Baby’s Only Organic® formulas. Regarding the use of our Baby’s Only Organic® formulas during infancy, similar to other commercially available infant formulas, our Baby’s Only Organic® formulas provide the correct balance of proteins, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals needed to support normal growth and development of full term, healthy infants. No extra dilution is needed. Nothing needs to be added to make the formula more “complete” when prepared according to label instructions. It is because of our strong position on breastfeeding that we prefer to maintain a “toddler” status, thereby not encouraging mothers to use our product when breast milk is available. Thus, we state that “Baby’s Only Organic® is not intended for infants under 1-year of age unless specified by a healthcare professional.”

However, we also recognize that long term breast feeding or exclusive breastfeeding is not feasible for every mother. There are many fine and very personal reasons, such as you mentioned, that may necessitate the use of a formula. In those cases, we are happy to provide an alternative. Therefore, we formulated all of Baby’s Only Organic® formulas to provide the same nutrition as popular infant formulas. Baby’s Only Organic® formulas meet the nutritional composition requirements of the Infant Formula Act and the Academy of Pediatrics’ guidelines on nutritional content for an infant formula.

The U.S Infant Formula Act requirements and also the Academy of Pediatrics guidelines on nutrient composition of an infant formula specify ranges for most nutrients including vitamins and minerals. As noted previously, Baby’s Only Organic® formulas all meet the requirements. You will note in our comparison charts, shown be clicking on the links below, that all infant formulas are similar in overall nutrient composition because of these requirement and guidelines. The differences in formulas are mainly based on the type and source of ingredients. As you know, we take great pride in our organic ingredients.
