  • Class Description

We strongly recommend that you complete your prenatal education no later than your 36th week of pregnancy. Starting this course between weeks 28-32 will allow you time to comfortably integrate the content into your birth preparation and further explore topics that spark your interest.

Note: Many classes fill up quickly! The earlier you register, the more options and flexibility you'll have regarding class dates and times.

This three-day intensive is designed to prepare you for a homebirth experience that is joyful and confident, not fear-driven. More than a condensed version of our longer series, this course uses the natural progression of labor as a guide for hands-on, experiential learning. Meeting over three days rather than one or two gives you time to absorb information, ask questions, and build lasting relationships with other expecting homebirth parents. This course is for all expecting parents who want to feel empowered and informed, and we've designed a flexible curriculum that allows us to engage with you at your specific level of interest and knowledge. Our goal is to create a nonjudgmental and safe environment where everyone feels welcome and can participate in a way that is most beneficial to them.

We provide a holistic and well-rounded approach to birth preparation, drawing from a variety of methods so you can discover what works best for you and your partner. We'll dive into the physiology, hormones, and emotions of birth, and we'll practice a variety of comfort and relaxation techniques and positions that can help enhance the progression of labor. Our 6 hours of class time also covers topics such as common interventions, pain relief options (both pharmacological and nonpharmacological), and what to expect with your newborn. A supplemental digital booklet with supporting information and resources is included with your registration, and since the course fee covers a partner or support person, you can both prepare for this incredible journey together.

Aside from educating pregnant people and their partners on the physiology, hormones, and emotions of birth, we practice a variety of comfort and relaxation techniques and positions that enhance the progression of labor. Our 6 hours of class time includes:

    -Videos
    -Discussion of informed choice
    -Common interventions
-Pain relief options (pharmacological and nonpharmacological)
    -Homebirth & hospital options.
