This Child Passenger Safety workshop was designed for parents and caregivers of people who use a carseat (from infant to preschool aged kids). Come learn about car seat selection, installation, and harnessing and leave the class feeling confident and reassured in your capacity to transport your precious little one safely each and every time.
Carseats are one of the most frequently used products that we trust to keep our children safe. Shockingly enough, statistics tell us that we're not always using them correctly. Throughout this workshop you'll be provided with education and tools to keep your children as safe as possible.
Topics covered throughout this workshop:
-
Proper Installation: teaches you how to properly install your car seat in your vehicle, ensuring it is secure and functioning correctly. Including safety tips, such as checking the seat’s expiration date, ensuring the seat is level, and using the correct harness straps.
-
Understanding Car Seat Types: The class explains the different types of car seats, including infant-only seats, convertible seats, and booster seats, and helps you choose the right one for your child’s age, size, and developmental needs.
-
Recall and Maintenance: You’ll learn how to check for recalls and maintain your car seat to ensure it remains safe and effective.
-
Support others in proper use: Confidence in supporting other caregivers of your child to install & operate your car seat.
Please Note:
-Babes in arms are welcome to attend, we kindly ask that mobile babies & children do not attend.
-Each adult attending must be registered. Caregivers of the same child receive a discounted rate.
-Facilitators are professionals who may have their own private practice. They may use their discretion to determine whether an additional fee is needed when their expertise is solicited outside of class.
