International Established Doula Certification Packet

ARE YOU AN ESTABLISHED DOULA WHO NEVER BECAME CERTIFIED?

Per Natural Resources All Families Foundation, an "established doula" has worked with a minimum of 25 families as a birth and/or postpartum doula within the past 5 years. 

As you may have heard hospitals are now regularly requesting proof of certification to ensure birthing people are working with individuals who are knowledgeable about current birth, postpartum, lactation, and newborn care practices and, many insurance companies are requiring certification for coverage of doula fees. Requirements for recertification every 5 years are becoming the standard. As a result more families are looking for a certified Doula to support them in the birth and postpartum period.

In order to provide a full scope of support for the doula community, Natural Resources is offering a International Established Doula Certification Program. This will provide doulas in need of certification with a clearly defined path to continue serving families under new and evolving guidelines set by hospitals and insurance agencies.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

1. Purchase this “Certification Packet” (fee is non-refundable)
2. You will receive a download explaining the process and requirements with links to the material required to submit your Certification Application 
3. Once you have completed all the requirements purchase the Certification Application to submit payment for the application processing fee. You will then gain access to the submission portal
4. Submit requirements
   
5. Your application will be reviewed 
6. Your Certificate will be provided

Re-certification is required every 5 years.
